Overview
Lemosho offers a more peaceful path with lush rainforest, wild moorlands, and remote western slopes. It joins the Machame trail later, giving you the best acclimatization and some of Kilimanjaro’s most photogenic spots.
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Moshi
Pre-climb briefing and gear check.
Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,800m)
Start in untouched rainforest.
Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp (3,610m)
Pass dramatic ridges into moorland.
Day 4: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m)
Easy hike with open views.
Day 5: Shira 2 to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower (4,630m)
Big acclimatization day. Challenging but key.
Day 6: Barranco to Barafu Camp
Climb Barranco Wall. Early dinner + rest.
Day 7: Summit Night – Uhuru Peak, descend to Mweka Camp
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Gate – Return to Hotel
