Nicknamed the “Coca-Cola Route”, Marangu is the oldest and most direct trail up Kilimanjaro. It’s the only route offering dormitory-style huts instead of tents — perfect if you’re looking for a warm bed after a cold hike.


Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi
Meet your guide and relax.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut (2,700m)
Gentle forest walk with wildlife.

Day 3: Mandara to Horombo Hut (3,720m)
Scenic moorlands and views of Mawenzi Peak.

Day 4: Horombo to Kibo Hut (4,700m)
Long hike across alpine desert.

Day 5: Summit Attempt – Kibo to Uhuru Peak, descend to Horombo

Day 6: Horombo to Gate – Transfer to Hotel
